I was never into much lace and frills as a girl

But some of the lacy patterns you find for knitted items are just beautiful

So I enjoy any excuse to make one

Imagine my delight when I was asked to make a lacy wrap - hehe!!!

I was very happy with this result - and so was my customer!

Just gorgeous....again!

When you find a good pattern, I think it is safe to stick with it, right? And with different colour choices, you can't get bored of it!

It is a very similar pattern to the scarf I shared last time, and just is, well... can I say it again?

This shawl was made to suit the customer's favourite colours, and I think it melded together incredibly well! 

I'll confess I'm not an expert on colours, but this sure looks great!

Simply blue

I've said it before, but I often repeat myself, so sending my apologies in advance - hehe!

I love to knit different things!

And occasionally, or sometimes more often than that, I just grab a random skein of yarn, and whip up something that takes my fancy - and hopefully will sell!

So, it's very simple, but no doubt perfect for someone who likes to add a little extra to their outfit!

I'm loving making these shawls!

Recently I was gifted some sock yarn, and enjoyed making it into a shawl. 

The result was gorgeous!

It’s almost the weekend! Time to breathe deep and enjoy whatever you’ve got planned. Of course, if those plans include things like cleaning the house or laundry, I’m pleased to give you an excuse to ignore those for a few minutes while you read this post.  😊

So... anyone who’s been following my Facebook (ahem, if not, check it out!) facebook.com/betsysboutiqueknits will know that I’ve been trying out some new products lately. I’ve always enjoyed experimenting with new patterns, but these days I’m branching out beyond my animal blankies and stuffed animals and dolls. My fingers have been busy knitting shawls, hats and scarves, and I’ve just listed a baby blanket for purchase! It’s a limited time offer, but I’ve extended the purchase deadline till Monday, Aug 27th.

It’s as soft and squishy and light as it looks. There’s only one available to purchase too, so pick it up before someone else does. Contact me for the cost.

Another gorgeous shawl!

Shawls DO take longer than toys to make, and appeal to a different audience.

I love that there are SO many patterns available!

Having done less than 10 of them so far, I am having fun finding patterns and experimenting with them!

This pattern was called Two Sisters, and was designed without tassels.

However, the recipient LOVES tassels, so here they are!

This shawl was VERY cosy! The pattern was so simple, and it looks magnificent!

I do have quite a range of shawl patterns, but it is fun to make a pattern more than once!

Especially when you do it in different colours! 

I know, I've said it  before, but it is amazing to see how it comes out!

I like custom orders, and shawls certainly are different from toys.

I have recently acquired (thanks to my birthday) some books with shawl patterns, and I am looking forward to trying lots of them out!!!

A recent winner in one of my competitions decided she didn't need any toys, but a shawl for herself was perfect....

So after lots of ummmm-ing and ahhhhhh-ing...

She chose this pattern: 

I'm not big on tassels myself, but I think they made this shawl look gorgeous!
