An amazing custom order

I like custom orders, and shawls certainly are different from toys.

I have recently acquired (thanks to my birthday) some books with shawl patterns, and I am looking forward to trying lots of them out!!!

A recent winner in one of my competitions decided she didn't need any toys, but a shawl for herself was perfect....

So after lots of ummmm-ing and ahhhhhh-ing...

She chose this pattern: 

I'm not big on tassels myself, but I think they made this shawl look gorgeous!

Here is a close up of the pattern and the harmony of the colours - beautiful!

Blankies and more blankies

With now over 80 blankies ordered, these are definitely the most popular item at Betsy's Boutique.

Have many variations in colour and the animals available, it makes for lots of fun for me in knitting them ☺

The zebra and lion blankies are once again available, bringing the list of available designs to:

An Aussie Blankie

So far Lorraine Pistorio has not designed a koala blankie, but I had a customer who just HAD to have one!!!

So I did my best... Popping my koala on this pile of leaves!

Probably not the prettiest koala, but maybe with a little more practice I will perfect it ☺

Look at that colour!!!

This colourpillar (my new name for it) is SO bright! 

A really fun project, and although not ordered, it was snapped up by an excited buyer in no time!

I am hoping to get more orders of the colourpillar - in different colours - it would be SO much fun!

2017's big project!

It took several months between doing orders for paying customers, but I was so thankful to finish my biggest project ever in late August! 

I wanted to knit a BIG blanket for our son, one to last a lifetime, to always be a tangible reminder of his Mummy's love ☺

You can just see his cheeky face peeping over the blanket on the left there!!!

I was SO happy when I put it on his bed, and it was SO big! It is SO warm too!!!

New rattles!

When a customer asks for a toy I have a pattern for, but have not yet knitted up, I get excited ☺

Think I have mentioned that before!!!!

So let me introduce the cow rattle!

I also got an order for a duck rattle...

That topnotch of feathers is pretty cute, right? ☺

There are still a few rattle patterns I haven't made up yet, but one day.... ☺

One of my favourite things

Some animals come out just right, 

and this happened recently 

when a new grandmother ordered a few animals...

I don't know which of those you would pick as a favourite...

but here is mine!!!!

Playful puppy!

My niece loves dogs - so I found the perfect birthday gift for her this year!!!!

A woodland duo

A grandmother and aunt came to me 

looking for two toys that would fit a woodland theme!

They also had to fit in with the nursery colour scheme...

I think they came out beautifully!

Seen here with their 4 week old forever friend!

I am sure he will love having two friends who will stick by him through all his childhood! ☺

I really DO enjoy working with customers to create a toy that they want!

Here is a colour scheme I wouldn't have thought of, but I think it looks great!

A fun order!

Most people only order one or two items at a time, 

so it was very exciting to get a rather large order just recently.

I am thankful it was not a rush job, because it did take a while, 

but it was fun doing such a range of items!

Variety in an order makes it very satisfying for me ☺

Colourific!

I had wondered why my customers only ever ordered animals in "normal" colours.

So I thought I would experiment....

Nine different colours...

But the photos just don't do this bunny justice!!!! Ever so much better "in the flesh" ☺

Precious Spots!

I was itching to make up this pattern, and thankful to have a customer order it! It would be wonderful to make it again - every time it comes out just a little different, and it is SO fun to see them!

The hat, in my opinion, is what makes her "oh so cute"!

Lorraine Pistorio is a VERY clever lady!!!

So many times people overseas can't represent Australian animals correctly, but this is excellent!

Now kangaroos do NOT hop down the street with a huge red heart in their pouch 

...but... 

this is an exception ☺

It isn't always this green in Australia where the kangaroos live, but no doubt this one is ecstatic with all that delicious greenery! 

Yes, the heart comes out ☺

Overall Twins

They really could not be twins, but with identical overalls they became twins =)

I hope they always stick together and give LOTS of love in their new "forever home"!

Pretty Pink Pig

She is big and cuddly, and can you see that tail??? =)

And did you like the way those ears curl over?

Now this looks like a great toy - but I also have had a few people say that it would be great as a door stop - what do you think???

Lots of Lamb

Another new toy!!!

Rather chunky - with arms outstretched - great for cuddles - ideal for kids!

All limbs are knitted in place, not moveable...

Although not designed to wear overalls, I am sure that overalls could be made to suit =)

Baby Bear!

December was quiet, so I had time to make up a few of the patterns I had not completed before then!

One of those completed was Baby Bear.... Quite the cutie I think!

This bear would be a perfect gift for a little girl...

But another colour overall could easily be made...

My orders come for all different occasions, and that makes it more interesting for me, as I work with my customer to create...

In mid-2016 I was contacted by a very excited grandma to be, who was looking for a present that was different to the ones you can easily pick up in your average shopping centre..
